REVISITED FLOOR PLAN DIAGRAM

 

The lobby is shift to the center. i did that because i wanted to have a focal point where all my guest could circulate the spaces without having to go through any other ones.

HYBRID MODEL

This is a hybrid model derived from my process. There is still debate on how the cubes(studios) would work on the site. Either its in the water or on the site and it has a double use like interior used for studio and outside used for theater.

SECTION DIAGRAM AND PLAN DIAGRAM

 

This is a section diagram of how i want my spaces to work. Each of them are specified by the floors and how much the height of each floor with be.

This is a floor plan diagram. I color coded them so its easier to tell the difference between the space and also by the sizes of the rectangles. the white spaces represent that they have a connection, also whats connected with what.

HYBRID MODEL WITH SITE 2 (NTS)

 

This is a process hybrid model not to scale. The bending of the material represents the flexibility of film and that part will somehow become a massing of my hotel/film studios. The cubes are isolated because i want all the film based program to be apart from the hotel but still have relevance. I will also incorporate green space and an outdoor movie theater somehow by wrapping or wedging over the cubes.

PROCESS MODELS

I am struggling to get models out of my emotions collage. But so far i have this model, which shows pealing and breaking of something.

These models above are derived from my programs collage. All of these models have a free and flexible flow to it. I related this flow to the film.

 

These models are derived from the "Edge" collage. All of these models stand on three point, which to me represent edges that hold up a structure.

"EMOTIONS" COLLAGE

 Visiting the site was devastating because of the after effects of hurricane Sandy. Observing the site, emotions that were involved were cold, lonely, broken, deserted, and sad.

"PROGRAM" COLLAGE

When i think of filming, i ponder about images that deal with deception, photo shoots, camera, and flow. Also, Panorama pictures, which provides the ability to catch a wide scene in a single photo. When i design the film studios/ hotel i want my guests to experience all of the following at the same time.

"EDGE" COLLAGE

The word "Edge" in itself can be interpreted in many different ways by everyone. When i think of the word edge, the ideas of a waterfront, tip of a building, sharp corners, illusions, a membrane which divides space come to mind.
