HYBRID MODEL

This is a hybrid model derived from my process. There is still debate on how the cubes(studios) would work on the site. Either its in the water or on the site and it has a double use like interior used for studio and outside used for theater.

  1. There needs to be some continuity. Look at the pins on your model. They are there to hold the model together. But WHAT IF they were not just there for that. What if the cube was the fragmented.
What does it have to be the one or the other. Your forms need to have some dialogue.

  2. try some string, strips of material, bass wood...anything thin and flexible to connect the 2. make the language work with that of the strips you already have enclosing your larger volume. From a street-side perspective, the "front" form is quite nice.

look to Bernard Tschumi's Le Fresnoy facility. It is a similar production and film studio. He encompasses many forms under one overarching roof. the interstitial spaces become more interesting that n the built forms. Maybe the exploration of the residual or negative spaces will help you inform the arrangement.
